Mr R has no regrets on choosing Berkeley Home Health Somerset and Wiltshire for home care.
Mr R, who is 100 years young this month, spent 5 months in hospital last year after breaking his knee from a fall. He had had enough of being in hospital but was very anxious at the thought of returning home, an annexe next door to his daughter-in-law. His knee had healed but he had been left with severe mobility issues. He didn’t like the thought of losing total independence and moving into a care home away from familiar surroundings, so Mr R decided to try in-home care.
Having never had any care service before, Mr R was still a little nervous. When Mr R was assessed by one of our Care Managers from our Somerset and Wiltshire branch they talked him through his bespoke care plan and reassured him. To ensure he could live independently and have all his needs covered, Mr R would need full support with personal care and four visiting care visits a day.
Our carers understood that this was all very daunting for Mr R but after a few weeks there was no looking back.
“I really enjoy my visits from my carers, they are all fabulous and the care I have received is to a very high standard – I couldn’t be happier! They are great company too. We talk about what’s happening in the football, my late wife, and some of my Army stories when I was based in Warminster.”
