Our care services

Your support, our passion

Berkeley Home Care is dedicated to providing high-quality support for those who want to live happily in their own homes. We provide a wide range of care services and pride ourselves in being able to offer home care for anyone in any situation.

We have a management team with thirty years’ experience in providing the highest standards in everything we do for our clients, their relatives and friends, the wider community and our team members. We are passionate in the belief that our clients deserve the best possible lifestyle options in their own environment, where they can lead a happy, fulfilling life.

Home care for older people

Leaving your home to live in a care home can be traumatic, which is why we offer home care services to help people live in the comfort of their own home for as long as possible. We can offer additional help a few times per week or even as a full-time live-in arrangement to maintain a good quality of life without the stress and upheaval of moving to a residential care home.

Our home care options include care for people with specialist requirements as well as more general support for people who are simply a little less mobile than they once were. This is an increasingly popular alternative around the country and helps to maintain independence.

Offering a real alternative to life in a care home

Support for older people in their own home is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to moving into a care home. We understand the importance of promoting and maintaining independence, helping maintain regular routines and having as normal a life as possible. From companionship through to personal care and to higher-level personal needs, our team can help nearly anyone to stay at home.

  • Avoids the trauma of potential separation from a loved one or treasured pet, or giving up living in familiar surroundings and the potential loss of freedom and independence

  • Support at home is entirely possible even for those with specialist care requirements, with costs typically comparable to those associated with residential care

  • Fully tailored to the needs of the individual. Our support offers significant benefits over residential care, allowing you or your loved one to continue to live independently in the comfort and security of your own home

  • Enjoy your favourite activities and remain part of your local community

  • Greater flexibility. We can provide just a few hours of care per week which can be increased as needs change

  • Live-in support is the ultimate level of care and has the benefit of true continuity

Meet the Winchmore Hill team

We give priority to assembling the best team possible, recruiting special, dedicated people and training them to perform their job superbly and create a working environment where they can thrive and make a real difference to the lives of our clients.

All of our team are employed directly by Berkeley Home Care. We take great effort to match the right carer with each client. We look at the individual requirements of each person and match them to the carer who has the appropriate skills and the most suitable personality.

All our team are carefully vetted and subject to UK Enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) checks. This is a government database holding details of anyone with a criminal record. We also obtain at least two references before anyone starts working for Berkeley Home Care. When interviewing for new team members we of are of course looking for relevant experience and life skills. However, the deciding factor for us when recruiting is “Would we want this person supporting our loved one?”

Figen Karadogan, Business Manager

Having worked in hotels in the UK and Japan for several years, Figen trained as a chef which she then did for 4 years prior to turning to the care industry. Figen joined Berkeley Home Care in 2014 as a Care Assistant, in 2015 she took the role of team leader and in 2016 she became Head of Care. It was clear from when she joined the company that she was a natural to care and has made significant progress in a short space of time.

Outside of work, Figen enjoys travelling, swimming and is an amateur astronomer – There is another skywalker!

Carole Stanley, Community Relations Manager

Carole spent many years in the corporate world specialising in the IT sector. After a family loss she re-evaluated her career and decided she would like to pursue a job within the healthcare sector. Carole started working as a Support Assistant and found great satisfaction from the positive difference she made to her client’s lives. After two years of being a Support Assistant, in August 2018 Carole joined Berkeley Home Care as Community Relations Manager. Her own personal experience coupled with empathy, the ability to listen to people’s needs and a commonsense approach are qualities that are perfect for this role.

In her personal life, Carole loves spending time with her family, is a football fan and is a long-term Arsenal supporter.
